About

An experiment in transparent, algorithmic journalism

Why We Built This

Traditional news organizations make thousands of editorial decisions every day behind closed doors. Which stories get covered? Which get buried? Which perspectives are amplified? The public rarely knows.

We believe journalism can do better. Glassbox is an experiment in radical transparency—using AI to curate news while showing every decision, every prompt, every score. We're not claiming to be unbiased. Instead, we're making our biases explicit and our process inspectable.

Our goal is simple: demonstrate that algorithmic curation can be both effective and accountable. If we succeed, we hope to inspire a new generation of news platforms that trust their audience enough to show them how headlines come together.

Our Principles

Transparency over perfection

We'd rather show you an imperfect process than hide behind editorial mystique.

Institutional impact over outrage

We prioritize stories about policy changes and structural shifts, not clickbait.

Accountability through auditability

Anyone should be able to verify our claims and challenge our methodology.

Continuous improvement

Our prompts and criteria will evolve based on performance and feedback.
